The Leader of the Year award is given to an individual whose leadership has had consistent, profound, positive impacts on the quality of life in Hendricks County and strength of our communities. The award does not recognize leadership activities within a single year, but across the recipient’s career as a community leader. Recipients will have displayed leadership activities that have been extraordinary and that model effective leadership techniques. Although it is possible that an individual could be selected based upon performance within a job, the committee will give preference to leaders who had significant impacts beyond the scope of their employment.
